Would Artificial Intelligence Replace Human Intelligence

Artificial intelligence is the intelligence of machines. Artificial intelligence has been a rapidly advancing field with central interest in what is typically called machine learning, which are computer programs that learn from data. Today’s computers, being dumb, must be trained to recognize objects or perform various tasks of interest. Machine learning has trained computers to solve abstract tasks like playing a game of chess better than they can reason.

It is the potential that machines will become “as smart as humans” that has caused the field of artificial intelligence to skyrocket in popularity in recent years. The most successful applications of machine learning have been as information retrieval systems.

AI research keeps going on, and it is expanding in the world. AI research has grown at a rate of 12.9 percent annually over the last five years. China is expected to overtake the United States as the world’s leading source of AI technology by 2025. China surpassed the United States in 2004 and has been moving up quickly.

Europe is the largest and most diverse continent for developing artificial intelligence. There’s significant international collaboration and significant levels of integration with other continents. India is the third largest AI researcher within the world, behind China and America. What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence such as visual perception, language comprehension, and decision-making.

AI is an umbrella term for all forms of AI, including computer science and engineering approaches to AI, as well as theoretical approaches. It is also used more narrowly to refer just to the most general field of study in which machine intelligence is studied. As artificial intelligence has become a very popular field, it is now used to refer to all the different branches of engineering and computer science trying to create artificial intelligence.

How Artificial Intelligence Will Change Our Lives?

There are so many ways in which AI will change our lives and it is difficult to do but here are a few examples:

- AI will process complex information on our behalf.
- AI will detect patterns that would be much more difficult for us to detect by ourselves.
- AI will predict our behaviour in a way that we do not control.
- AI will replace skills and professions.
- AI will be capable of learning new skills and behaviours, which would be much more difficult for us to learn.
- AI will increase productivity across many segments of the economy.
- You will interact with an increasing number of artificial entities (e.g., taxi companies, self-driving cars, smart home devices) that have increased autonomy compared to other devices (e.g., washing machines).

What can artificial intelligence do for us?

Artificial intelligence can add a lot of capabilities to human kind. It is not just limited to computers, but also cars, homes and other devices. From the beginning of time, humans have been limited by their lack of strong cognitive capabilities and artificial intelligence has been used for a long time. In 1964, Herbert Simon predicted the use of AI with its pattern recognition power that it would replace man completely at some future point in time. By 2013, we could make AI work on mobile devices that were not just restricted to computers, but from smaller appliances such as phones and tablets.

With continuing advances in technology, can artificial intelligence replace human intelligence? One way in which artificial intelligence is used to replace human intelligence is by matching people with jobs. This can be seen through the employment of robots as cashiers in many stores or restaurants. Sometimes, where it goes beyond replacement, artificial intelligence has been used for automated diagnosis for diseases that were previously diagnosed by humans. Artificial intelligence is even being used in the medical field to design pharmaceuticals.

The major drawback of artificial intelligence is that it does not possess the judgement of a human being. For performing any task, the human being can determine what needs to be done and also have a sense of empathy for other people. This can be seen where artificial intelligence realizes that some course of action will ultimately lead to loss and so decides not to do the task. This can lead to loss of profit to the business. The major disadvantage of artificial intelligence is that it cannot communicate with other people effectively. This can lead to it becoming stagnant because there is no feedback or acknowledgement between itself and the business that it works for.
